Mexican Finance Minister Jose Antonio Meade said authorities don’t have enough information to open an investigation into alleged bribery at Walmart Stores Inc’s local subsidiary.

“I’ve seen the story and we’re looking into it,” Meade told reporters in Washington, after the New York Times said yesterday that the retailer curtailed an internal investigation into allegations of bribery by executives in Mexico. “We don’t have enough elements” to open an investigation, Meade said. “When we have enough, we’ll decide how to proceed.”
