"Data security awareness is very minimal among SMEs. It is only large companies like Reliance, Arvind and Adani who maintain top notch security of their database. The seminar will also be targeted at aspiring chartered accountants (CAs), whose curriculum features only 15 per cent of Information Technology," said Nitin Pathak, chairman, IT Committee, Ahmedabad chapter of WIRC of ICAI. |
According to Pathak, awareness needs to be created in usage of internet and local area network (LAN) among corporates. "Right from credit cards to USB ports, the usage of IT products has to be in a secured manner to reduce data thefts and losses," he added.
