However, the government today revived the inflation rate for the week ended March 15, 2008 to 8.02 per cent as compared to provisional inflation rate of 6.68 per cent reported earlier.

During the week the prices of crude, vegetables, moong and urad declined, however the prices of tea, condiments, spices, rice and wheat moved up.

The index for the fuel group also increased due to higher prices of aviation turbine fuel. Among the manufactured food items prices of unrefined oil, khandhari, mustard oil and ground nut oil declined.

However, the prices of soyabeen oil, gur, skimmed mild powder and imported edible oil moved up.
