He said the site was connected by rail route and a state highway. Water is available from the Mahanadi river and hence would be helpful in setting up the plant.
In a letter to Singh, Yeddyurappa requested him to help Karnataka initiate land acquisition proceedings for the proposed plant and grant the available government land for it.
"I also require your timely assistance for water allocation from Mahanadi as well as early clearance of State Pollution Control Board", he said. "Most importantly, as member-state in the coal allocation committee of Government of India, your help for obtaining coal linkage from the south eastern coal field would be essential for our success", he added.
