Market Bullish On Jaswant

With Jaswant Singh at the helm of the finance ministry, most fund managers and stock brokers expect the market to react positively tomorrow.

Ahead of the announcement of the Cabinet reshuffle today, the BSE sensex settled with a gain of 44.1 points at 3,288.71. Most public sector stocks were in the limelight on hopes that the divestment process would be taken forward by Singh.

Key stocks like Hindustan Petroleum (up 4.34 per cent at Rs 276.65), Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Ltd (up 3.23 per cent at Rs 146.95) and Bharat Heavy Electricals (up 1.55 per cent at Rs 180.35) remained in the limelight.
