Modi woos Chinese investors during visit

As part of his fourth visit to China, on the invitation of Communist Party of China (CPP), Gujarat chief minister Narendra Modi, has set the ball rolling with regards to economic cooperation with China by emphasising on the shared heritage of India and China, and the common vision for improved quality of lives of their people.

While showcasing 'Brand Gujarat’ he invited Chinese business community and public enterprises to participate in the Vibrant Gujarat Global Investors’ Summit–2013.

He showcased Gujarat as a destination with a conducive environment to invest and work and said, "China and its people have a special place in my heart. I admire their hard working, disciplined and resilient nature and above all, their sense of history. Our cultural bonds are very strong and deep-rooted. Over the years, our relations have further strengthened. We are committed to making them still better, fruitful and productive."

Modi further added, "I have seen growing interest among Chinese companies to work in Gujarat. We wholeheartedly welcome them. My personal visit is to reinforce that process."

Modi offered the opportunities for collaboration in sports as Gujarat has set up a sports university and also announced plans to open a Mandarin school to promote learning of Chinese language in Gujarat.
