Union civil aviation minister Sayyed Shahnawaz Hussain has assured Maharashtra chief minister Vilasrao Deshmukh that a decision on the proposed second international airport at Navi Mumbai would be taken in the next three weeks.
Deshmukh met Hussain on September 25, 2001, to press for a resolution to the issue since City Industrial Development Corporation (Cidco) has already acquired 350 hectares for the project. The chief minister pointed out that the site met all parameters set by the civil aviation ministry and sought an early clearance for the project to which Hussain sought a month
