N Chandrababu Naidu was today re-elected as the leader of 90-member Telugu Desam Legislature Party in Andhra Pradesh.

Naidu, who will continue as the Leader of the Opposition in the 294-member State Assembly, was unanimously elected by the party MLAs at a meeting here.

The name of the 60-year-old former chief minister was proposed by senior MLA Ashok Gajpathi Raju and seconded by another legislator Satyavathi Rathod and was unanimously approved by all the newly-elected MLAs.

The TDP has promised to play a constructive role as an Opposition party in the state where Congress retained power in the just-concluded Assembly elections.
