A voluntary organisation here is protesting the proposed amusement park at the Gangapur dam here claiming that it would affect the arrival of migratory birds. If the proposed boating club and amusement park come up at the dam, the birds will cease to inhabit the place and the present bio-chain will be finished, Nature Conservation Society president Vishwarup Shah said on Thursday. He said they have brought the matter to the notice of the Bombay Natural History Society (BNHS) and if required, they will even approach the court to stop the amusement park from coming up at the dam, situated 10 kms from Nashik city. The project is of the Maharashtra Tourism Development Corporation (MTDC).
