The state's own tax revenue rose from Rs 10,778.74 crore to Rs 12,229.41 crore in the period, achieving 61.57 per cent of the Budget estimate (BE) of Rs 19,862.65 crore. Within the own tax revenue bracket, stamps & registration fee posted the highest growth rate at 38.64 per cent, increasing from Rs 431.02 crore to Rs 597.56 crore.
Taxes and duties on electricity rose from Rs 484.64 crore to Rs 609.43 crore, registering a growth of 25.75 per cent.
Motor vehicles tax posted 29.07 per cent growth to reach Rs 592.91 crore compared to Rs 459.38 crore in the year ago period. Growth recorded by other items in the state's own tax revenue basket include professional tax (17.18 per cent), land revenue (15.30 per cent), state excise (19.83 per cent), sales tax (10.41 per cent) and entry tax (6.47 per cent).
