Two directors and the General Manager of a Mumbai-based company have been declared proclaimed offenders by a Delhi court after they failed to appear before it in a cheque bouncing case.

“The accused have failed to appear before the court till date. Accordingly, they have been declared proclaimed offenders,” Metropolitan Magistrate Sourabh Pratap Singh Laler said. Ram Kumar Sunkare, Raghu Shastri, both directors of M/s Brown Paper Technologies Ltd and M B Aggarwal General Manager (Finance) of the firm, did not appear before the court on October five and previous hearings.

The court was hearing a criminal case filed by advocate Tarun Rana against the company under the Negotiable Instruments Act for alleged dishonouring of five cheques having a face value of Rs 5.52 lakh. The cheques were issued by the comp-any to Delhi-based M/s M K Resins and Chemicals Private Ltd, involved in the trade of gum, resins and turpentine oil, as payment towards purchase of goods. The case was filed against the company having its registered office at Andheri East in Mumbai and its four office bearers including the three who were declared proclaimed offender. The court has posted the matter for October 18 for recording of evidence.
