Pranab to meet economic editors on Tuesday

Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee will inaugurate the two-day annual Economic Editors' Conference here on Tuesday and provide them a comprehensive view of the overall economy.

"The media persons will get a comprehensive view of the overall economic scenario in the country and the latest initiatives and thrust areas of the different participating ministries and departments of the government," an official release said.

The two-day conference will start on October 26, it added.

There will be separate sessions with the ministers and senior officers of the key economic and infrastructure ministries participating in the conference.

"The conference will enable editors and journalists to interact with ministers and senior officers of key economic and infrastructure ministries and get a detailed view of government policies and programmes," the release added.

The administrative bodies participating in the conference include the Planning Commission and the ministries of power, agriculture, railways, road transport & highways and petroleum & natural gas.

About 300 editors and financial writers are likely to attend the event.
