Pro-Kannada organisations are staging a protest rally against the conduct of the global investors’ meet (GIM) in Bangalore on June 3. The rally is being held by organisations like the Karnataka Rajya Raita Sangha, Karnataka Rakshana Vedike, Karunada Sene, Samata Sainika Dal, Praja Vimochana Chaluvali among others.
“The GIM being held on June 3 and June 4 in Bangalore will be disastrous for the interests of farmers and industrial workers in the state. It is an attempt by the state government to handover valuable agriculture land, power, water and other facilities to the private sector,” the pro-Kannada organisations said in a statement.
As part of the protest, these organisations will stage a dharna at the Mahatma Gandhi statue on M G Road at 11 am, which will be attended by leaders of these organisations and heads of NGOs in the city, the statement said.
