Passenger revenue earnings during the period were up 17 per cent to Rs 5,803 crore, against Rs 4,940 crore during the same period last year.
Revenue earnings from other sources amounted to Rs 696 crore during April-May, compared with Rs 490 crore during the same period last year, an increase of 42 per cent.
Passengers booked during April-May this year were 1,395 million against 1,392 million during the same period last year, a rise of 0.19 per cent. In the suburban and non-suburban sectors, passengers booked during April and May were 726 million and 669 million, respectively against 701 million and 692 million, respectively during the same period last year, an increase of 3.6 per cent and a decrease of 3.25 per cent, respectively.
