Rajkot Machine Tools Manufacturers Association (RMTMA) in association with K&D Communications, an Ahmedabad-based event management company, will host Machine Tools Show 2006, a 4-day industrial exhibition, in November.

Speaking to Business Standard, Rupesh Mehta, president, RMTMA, said, "This event shall start from November 16 till 19. The exhibition is partially sponsored by the Ministry of Heavy Industries & Enterprise and Department of Heavy Industries."

Around one lakh delegates are expected to visit the show and the cost of stalls is between Rs 45,000 and Rs 1 lakh, he added.

Explaining the objective behind this event in Rajkot, Mehta said, "RMTMA and Rajkot has already gained name across the globe for its precision engineering skills as far as engineering and machine tools trade is concerned. We are hosting this event in Rajkot with an objective to let the trade from across the world have an exposure of Rajkot's skillset in this particular area."

Secondly this business and industrial exhibition event will inturn provide a world-class business interactions platform for the machine tools industry icons too, as we are anticipating 300 participants to showcase their products from across the world in our this event, added Mehta.

Kalpesh Gohil, managing director of K & D Communications, while speaking to Business Standard, said, "Prime focus is to let the participants interact with each other and have an exposure to the kind of technology the global players adopt."

Rajkot has expertised in manufacturing engineered machine tools, but with the passage of time, technology has also advanced in this area.

After CNC, it was an era of laser cutting technology and now the latest one is the Water Jet Flow technology, wherein metals are cut using water flow. Adoption of such technique automatically reduces manufacturing cost.

Therefore when such products are showcased, it would woo Rajkot-based manufacturers also to manufacture such products or undertake assignments for manufacturing it, added Gohil.

We are going to have 300 stalls for the exhibition, out of which 150 have already been booked. There are going to be 10 companies from USA, UK, China, Israel, Taiwan, Czech Republic, Slovania, Japan etc participating in this event. We are also anticipating participation of delegation of 10 companies from Holland, who are likely to participate in this event too, as our negotiations with Netherlands Business Support Office at Ahmedabad are in progress, Gohil said.

While speaking to Business Standard, Gauri Wagnaar, chief representative of Netherlands Business Support office at Ahmedabad, said, "We are expecting a business mission to visit Gujarat in the end of September. They are visiting the state with an objective of outsourcing their business requirements from here. If anyone from this mission is interested would think of participating in this event."

As we are on good terms with the event management company and have been participating in their various events, we would extend our support to them by explaining their event to our mission visiting Gujarat, added Gauri.
