Congress Working Committee (CWC) member, K Vijayabhaskara Reddy yesterday favoured withdrawal of the partys support to the United Front government in the wake of unprecedented bungling over law and order situation in Uttar Pradesh.
If Congress continues support even after such a serious error, the partys image will be badly damaged, Reddy told reporters here.
Urging the party president, Sitaram Kesari to seriously ponder over the issue to save the Congress from further damage, Reddy said the rift between Union home minister Indrajit Gupta and Uttar Pradesh Governor Romesh Bhandari was fraught with serious repurcussions.

Bhandaris public disapproval of the Union home ministers assessment on law and order situation amounted to unprecedented humiliation and it was ironic that the Union cabinet was divided over such a vital issue, the former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister said.
The issue has exposed irreconcilable differences within the government. It does not deserve to rule the country, Reddy said.
The Rayalaseema strongman said the partys image had already suffered a dent by extending unconditional support to the UF government.
Time has now come to save the party. We cannot go on taking responsibility for their (governments) mistakes, he said.
Welcoming Lok Sabha Speaker P A Sangmas bold and correct decision to admit the motion demanding recall of Bhandari, he however, said the Congress would vote against the motion since it was moved by the fundamentalist BJP.
