Corporate Affairs Minister Salman Khurshid today said the Registrar of Companies has to judge if Rendezvous Sports had violated any procedures in its foray into the IPL cricket.

"That is not for me to judge. If there are any violations, these are to be judged by the Registrar of Companies (RoC) as they are the ones who monitor companies and it is their jurisdiction," Khurshid told reporters here.

He was asked whether there was any violation of rules and procedures by Rendezvous Sports Company in their bid for the Kochi IPL team. Khurshid said if any violation comes to their (RoC) notice, "they ask questions and refer to us if necessary".

"There are regulators for everything. We come into the picture only when regulators tell us something. When a filing takes place and we find there is any deficiency in it," Khurshid said when asked about any probe in the IPL issue.

He rejected suggestions of a suo-motu action by his Ministry into the affairs of the IPL.

"Why should there be any suo-motu action from the Ministry. There are regulators for everything ... And if they want to refer something to us, we will look at it. For us, we look only at the filing and the appropriate dates of filing and if we find any deficiency in filing, then only we take action," Khurshid said.
