| Officials had earlier talked to MP Industry Minister Babulal Gaur and senior officials of the department of industry during Pravasi Bhartiya Diwas in Hyderabad last month. Gaur has been facing flak for his investment promises made when he was chief minister. The allotment of land to the company is an issue that he has to sort out. |
| Although industry department officials and the state industrial development corporation are silent on the project, a source told Business Standard, "The Sanghi group is looking at setting up a 1,000 Mw power plant and a cement plant of 3 million tonnes in the state. However, there are no coal mines to allot to the firm. Nor does the state have 2,000 acres for the cement plant and 1,000 acres of land for the power plant. Further, the firm is learnt to have demanded exemption in sales tax and support on environment clearance. |
