Singapore today suggested that India should enter into an economic partnership agreement (EPA) with the island nation for increasing bilateral trade. Singapore Prime Minister Goh Chok Tong told a visiting Indian delegation led by the Confederation of Indian Industry that the two countries could enter into an EPA, similar to the one signed with Japan, which will facilitate imports into India at lower tariffs.
Tong further said while the economies of the west were slowing down, India and China were the only economies which could register growth. He also asked India to relocate industries from Singapore which would be in favour of both the nations.
