To encourage young entrepreneurs set up businesses, Delhi Government has established a single window system to help them obtain clearances from various departments under one roof and within shortest possible time.

The principal objective of Business Facilitation Council will be to ensure grant of all approvals required from various departments to set up enterprises through a time-bound and simplified way.

"We have set up BFC in the industries department to provide a conducive environment to the entrepreneurs wanting to set up their own businesses," Chetan Sanghi, Commissioner of Industries, said.

He said BFC would comprise nodal officers from various departments and agencies including MCD, Pollution Control Committee, Labour department, discoms who would do their best to facilitate prompt approval required to set up new businesses.

The BFC would operate through the business facilitation council cell to be headed by the Joint Commissioner of Industries. The cell would be the interface between the entrepreneur and the departments concerned.

The nodal officers will ensure that the applications received in their department for the setting up of industrial enterprise are processed and disposed of without any delay, Sanghi said.

The joint commissioner of industries will ensure that all applications received by the BFC cell are processed in a timely manner, Sanghi said.

He said government is in the process of devising a common application form fulfilling the requirements of all departments which require to give clearances to set up enterprises.

The BFC would also help entrepreneurs to facilitate filling up of the common application form.

It would also suggest policy changes and procedural reforms to remove bottlenecks in setting up of industrial unit in Delhi.
