Six persons were being tested for swine flu in the country while samples of 52 others have turned out to be negative for the dreaded disease.
A senior health ministry official today said screening of passengers coming from affected countries is continuing at 21 international airports and 35,842 passengers have been screened till now, out of which 8,129 passengers were from the affected countries.
Of the six persons being tested, one was a passenger who disembarked at the Mumbai Airport and has now been referred to an identified health facility.
So far samples of 52 persons have been tested and found negative for swine flu.
Meanwhile, the World Health Organisation has reported 6,497 laboratory confirmed cases of influenza A/H1N1 infection from 33 countries. There have been 65 deaths.
The United States has reported 3,352 laboratory confirmed human cases, including three deaths, Mexico 2,446 cases with 60 deaths, Canada 389 cases with one death and Costa Rica eight cases with one death.
