A special drive will be launched in Uttar Pradesh to repair all roads in the state which have been damaged due to the torrential rains this year, PWD Minister Naseemuddin Siddiqui said here today.
An additional amount will be released this month for the drive which will continue till September 30, the minister said.
After the completion of the drive, a joint team comprising government and PWD officers will inspect the work done, the minister said while chairing a meeting of the PWD officials.
Expressing displeasure over the poor condition of roads, he said that despite spending an amount of Rs 1.822 crores till the month of July, the repairs and patch work was not up to the mark.
An action was ordered against three chief engineers, eight superintending engineers and nine executive engineers by the minister over poor progress of the work done by them under various projects.
