"For leveraging the unique number data, we will have a SRDH in the state very shortly so that the Aadhaar data can be used in various e-governance applications," said Madhusudan Padhee, state IT secretary. He was speaking on the occasion of second edition of eOdisha conference organised here. The SRDH will be a repository of UIDAI data of residents, along with the photograph. Other states having SRDH include Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra. "With an expense of around Rs 10 crore, the data will be stored in the server at the state data centre. We are hopeful the SRDH will be operationalised in next six months," said Padhee. In a separate development, the Odisha government has rolled out the e-district project to all districts after its successful implementation in Ganjam and Mayurbhanj. "About 280 tehsils are covered out of 317 tehsils in the state," he added.
Six services are processed online in the project including caste certificates, income, nativity, legal heir, income certificates, etc. Stating that the state government is committed to create an open environment to attract investment from IT/ESDM (electronic system design manufacturing) industries and foreign investors, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik said that the government has brought out a new industry friendly ICT policy-2014 with a number of incentives to boost the IT/ITES and ESDM sector in Odisha. Patnaik today unveiled the new ICT policy and a road map for the development of ESDM sector in the state.
