The Task Force on power headed by the secretary, energy department of the Orissa government, would scrutinise the proposals of four power projects in its next meeting scheduled on 20th April.
These proposals included capacity expansion of the Captive Power Plant (CPP) of Ferro Alloys Corporation (Facor) from 45 Mw to 100 Mw entailing an investment of Rs 568.11 crore.
The Task Force would also examine the investment proposal of Utkal Power Ltd, a unit of IMFA group. The company proposed to set up 1320 Mw plant with Independent Power Producer (IPP) status at an investment of Rs 7355 crore.
Similarly, NSL Nagapatnam Power’s proposal to set up a 1320 Mw power plant at an investment of Rs 6600 crore and Lanco Solar’s plan to set up a 200 Mw CPP at an investment of Rs 1054 crore would also come up under the scanner of the Task Force.
It may be noted, the Task Force on power was reconstituted recently with the energy secretary P K Jena as the head.
Previously it used to be headed by the chief secretary. It has secretary, water resources department, chairman-cum-managing director (CMD), Ipicol and member secretary of the Orissa State Pollution Control Board (OSPCB) as members, sources added.
