TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu today held a meeting at the party headquarters to assess the party's debacle in Lok Sabha polls. The TDP will review its electoral performance and the party's stand on the contentious Telangana statehood issue too as it did not do well in the Telangana region despite forging an alliance with TRS, party sources said.
Telangana was a TDP bastion for long but the alliance with TRS apparently proved counter-productive, party leaders feel.
Meanwhile, Chandrababu will be elected leader of the Telugu Desam Legislature Party at a meeting of the newly-elected 90 MLAs tomorrow. The leaders also met to to review arrangements for the party's annual conference 'Mahanadu', that will be held here on May 27 and 28.
