The grants received from the 12th Finance Commission (TFC) will be spent by December this year. The chief secretary Ajit Kumar Tripathy has asked the administrative departments availing grants from TFC to expedite expenditure and submit the utilisation certificate (UC) by December.
This follows a missive from the Union government pertaining to the utilisation of the funds provided to Orissa by the TFC. Among the departments, the health and family welfare department and housing and urban development department s were way behind in utilisation of funds, sources said.
The health and family welfare department has so far spent Rs 96 crore out of Rs 196.37 crore availed by it.
