The Trinamool Congress, which displayed spectacular performance in West Bengal bagging 19 seats in the Lok Sabha polls, today said it would not bargain for portfolios but wanted a stable government at the Centre.
"We are not really in the game of any kind of bargain. There is no question of any kind of condition also. We want a stable government," TC spokesman Dinesh Trivedi said.
Trivedi said Congress President Sonia Gandhi and TC chief Mamata Banerjee would soon discuss issues relating to government formation.
"They are going to discuss. We have a significant number. Infact, we have the largest number of seats among the allies. So, I am very much sure that the Congress would be very keen to have Mamata on board," he said.First Published: May 17 2009 | 1:06 PM IST
