UP gets Rs 316 cr for flood control

| Chief engineers, superintending engineers and executive engineers of Azamgarh, Gorakhpur, Basti and Faizabad divisions had been directed to inspect the embankments of the rivers in the eastern UP regularly and do physical verification of the construction works, State Irrigation Minister Mirajuddin said. |
| "The government had allocated Rs 316 crore for the current fiscal for flood control measures in the eastern districts of the state," he said after a flood review meeting yesterday, adding the chief engineer (floods) would camp here for two days. |
| "Seven engineers found absent from duty during a check conducted at Mahula-Garhwal embankment in Azamgarh district have been warned," he said. |
