BJP interrupts Rahul live
Says live telecast of Rahul Gandhi's public meet will have direct impact on voters as three LS constituencies to go to the polls tomorrow
BS Reporter Raipur The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) had demanded the poll panel to stop the live telecast of Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi's public meeting to be held in Korba Thursday.
"The live telecast of Rahul Gandhi's public meeting will have direct impact on voters as three Lok Sabha constituencies would go to the polls tomorrow," BJP spokesperson Saccidanand Upasne said. The party had submitted a memorandum to the election commission demanding immediate action.
Upasne said the commission till Wednesday evening had not taken any decision on its plea. The party leaders would be meeting later in the evening to work out the strategy to minimise the impact, he said, adding that the live telecast of the meeting would be a violation of election model code of conduct.
This would be the third public meeting of Rahul Gandhi in Chhattisgarh that would go to the second phase of polling on Thursday. The red army has its presence in all the three constituencies but Kanker is the worst.
The election commission has included the three constituencies in the second phase while Bastar alone went to the polls on April 10.
