Will support Congress if they seek post-poll support: DMK
If the same Congress comes seeking help after the elections, the DMK will offer help to see that a secular government comes to power at the Centre
BS Reporter Chennai Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) supremo M Karunanidhi said his party would support the Congress if they sought help after the elections. Speaking about the Congress party, he said, “They tried to save their government. My friends in the Congress party forgot the meaning of gratitude and had acted thanklessly. That is why they fell down to the depth.” If the same Congress comes seeking help after the elections, the DMK will offer help to see that a secular government comes to power at the Centre, he said.
While he did not comment directly on the recent issues with MK Alagiri, his son whom the DMK had expelled, he said, “For me, the party is important, not my family or children. I’m 70 years into politics,” he said.
He alleged Tamil Nadu chief minister J Jayalalithaa had amassed huge wealth although she was taking a salary of Re 1.
