Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalithaa cast her vote on Monday. While exuding positivity, she said that the coming two days will unravel judgement of people of the state.

"In two days you will know what people's judgement is," said Jayalailthaa at Chennai's Stella Maris College.

Earlier in the day, super star Rajinikanth cast his vote and appealed the masses to exercise their franchise.

"Everyone should vote, that is a duty," said Rajinikanth.

Actor Kamal Hassan also voted and hoped for a better turnout of the electorates.

'We have done our duties and I hope others are doing it as well," Hassan said.

Many more like Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) Treasurer M K Stalin and Desiya Murpokku Dravida Kazhagam (DMDK)-PWF chief ministerial candidate Vijayakanth cast their votes.

18.3% turnout has been reported in Tamil Nadu till 9 a.m.

Tamil Nadu is going on polls for 233 seats, with voting for Aravakurichi constituency having been deferred.

All non-sensitive booths would have a policeman each for providing security and central paramilitary force personnel would give security cover for the sensitive and hypersensitive booths.

Meanwhile, the election authorities are bracing for the possibility of unusual rains today.

The Election Commission has made additional efforts in the polling booths to provide cover for the voters to come and exercise their franchise without getting drenched in the possible rain.
