| Punjab Cooperative Societies Registrar Viswajit Khanna said, "The insurance company has cleared bills of Rs 8.27 crore of various hospitals where nearly 4,870 Sanjivni members got specialised health services like radiography etc or weretreated for various ailments." |
| From the above figure, it is evident that the scheme has started paying dividends for those who adopted the scheme by paying an annual premium of Rs 300 and 12.24 per cent service tax to enrol. But, for dependants up to 60 years old, Rs 30 would be charged as annual premium plus service tax. |

| The scheme was launched in April, aiming to provide cost-effective quality healthcare to members of the rural cooperative societies. It aims at providing health insurance of Rs 2 lakh per annum per beneficiary or family. |
| For eligibility criterion, a person should be a member of the cooperative society for atleast six months. Also, the scheme has MedSave Health Care Ltd as third party administrator (TPA) that will ensure "cash-free hospitalisation" of the beneficiaries for various ailments at well-equipped private hospitals which are part of its network. |
| Khanna added, "We are getting tremendous response from the rural people, as before the launch of the scheme we planned to cover 500,000 people but we have got overwhelming response and so we are further widening our services." |
| There are 248 private and 164 government civil hospitals on the panel of the scheme, including all the major private hospitals and medical colleges-cum-hospitals. |
