The finance ministry has asked the General Insurance Public Sector Association (Gipsa) to investigate the operations of third-party administrators (TPAs) to smoothen the introduction of cashless medical services.

Gipsa is an association of and the coordinating body for the four non-life state insurers, New India Assurance, United India Insurance, The Oriental Insurance and National Insurance.

The association is making random checks at various TPA centres
