Nabard sanctions Rs 186.31 crore for Punjab, Haryana

National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (Nabard) has sanctioned Rs 186.31 crore for Punjab and Haryana for upgrading technical institutions and reconstruction of roads under the Rural Infrastructure Development Fund (RIDF).

For Punjab, Nabard has approved Rs 79.79 crore for upgrade and modernisation of veterinary hospitals and dispensaries in 20 of its districts under RIDF, and Rs 106.52 crore for widening and reconstruction of 15 rural roads in 11 districts of Haryana, the bank said in a release issued on Wednesday.

Under the first project meant for Punjab, money has been sanctioned for strengthening of technical institutions involving three government-promoted polytechnics, two engineering colleges into multi-discipline academies and construction of one new multi-discipline academy.
