Re ends a tad lower, gilts slip on profit-taking

The rupee is expected to open in the range of 44.57-44.65 against the dollar on Monday.

• The rupee opened at 44.63/67 per dollar and closed lower at 44.6550/66. It touched a low of 44.7450 in intraday trades.
• Annualised discount on six-month and one-year dollars closed at 0.85 per cent and 0.4 per cent, respectively.

Money market

Sentiment: Bearish

• Government security prices fell on profit sales.
• Prices of long-term papers fell by 30 paise, while those of medium term slid by 15-20 paise.
• The yield on the ten-year benchmark paper, 7.37 per cent 2013, closed at 5.13 per cent.
• Call money rates ended unchanged at 4.00-4.25 per cent.
• Subscriptions at the repo window stood at Rs 19,340 crore.
