Outlook:
The spot rupee is expected to open in the range of 45.28-32 to a dollar.

The spot rupee opened at 45.34/35 and reached an intraday high of 45.27 to a dollar before closing the day at 45.31/32.

The annualised premium for six-month and one-year forward dollars closed at 1.59 per cent and 1.54 per cent, respectively.

Money market

Sentiment: Lacklustre

Prices of government securities fell by 2-3 paise across maturities.

The activity was focused on short- and medium-term government papers.

The yield on 10-year paper closed at 7.67 per cent.

Interbank call rates ruled in the range of 6.80-90 per cent.

The RBI absorbed around Rs 1,535 crore as surplus liquidity from the market.
