Sridharan is new MD of SBI

R Sridharan has taken charge as the managing director (MD) and group executive (associates and subsidiaries) of State Bank of India (SBI) from December 5.
Sridharan, a graduate from the Madras University, joined SBI as a probationary officer in 1972. Prior to this appointment, he was deputy MD of the bank, looking after its non-banking subsidiaries. Earlier, he was also MD and CEO of SBI Capital Markets, a subsidiary of the country’s largest bank. Sridharan has also served at SBI’s international division and as an adviser to the Union finance ministry.
