Innovative Materials and Technologies for Road Construction to be Showcased on February 20-21

The Indian Academy of Highway Engineers (IAHE), the apex organization in the country for the training of highway professionals, on behalf of Ministry of Road Transport and Highways will organize a workshop cum exhibition on Adoption of Innovative technologies and materials for Road Construction in India on February 20-21, 2015. Briefing the mediapersons on the event, Secretary, Ministry of Road Transport and Highways Shri Vijay Chhibber said here today, to encourage use of new/alternative materials/technologies, Ministry initiated the process of accreditation. However, new/alternative materials/technologies could not receive desired response from project engineers, designers and consultants. Therefore, pro-active steps for their adoption need to be encouraged. The aim of the workshop-cum-exhibition is also to provide a platform to developers and promoters to showcase innovative materials and technologies with a view to encourage their adoption and use in the design, construction, maintenance, operation and management of road/bridge infrastructure in India. In order to encourage greater participation in the event, no fee is being charged from participants.
