It is the result of a collective spirit and integrated-effort paving ways for more inter-ministerial cooperation in future, said the Minister of Road Transport & Highways, Shri Nitin Gadkari, at the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Ministry of Railways here today. In the MoU, it has been agreed by both the Ministries that there shall be coordination between the two Ministries and the Ministries will not levy any charge for supervision, maintenance, departmental charges or land lease charges from each other. It has also been decided that Ministry of Road Transport & Highways shall construct complete ROB/RUB (including railway bridge portion) on NH Corridors on single entity basis and cost will be borne by MoRT&H. The MOU has been framed in such a way that approval of General Arrangement Drawing (GAD) as well as construction of ROBs/RUBs shall not be hampered due to departmental proceedings. This MOU will be a milestone in timely replacing all level crossings on NH Corridors by ROBs/RUBs added the Minister.
