Cab hailing app Uber on Monday said six researchers from India have made it to the global list of top 50 researchers who helped it improve security of products and services.
Uber is celebrating first anniversary of its 'bug bounty programme' which works with security researchers all over the world to fix bugs.
"Uber's bug bounty programme works with security researchers all over the world to fix bugs, even when they don't directly impact our users. We appreciate the ongoing contributions of the six researchers in India ...," Uber said in a statement.
During the past 12 months, Uber has paid more than USD 860,000 (Rs 5.6 crore) to researchers across the world for helping it improve the security of products and services.
More than 500 security researchers around the world participated in the 'bug bounty programme', it added.
Australia, Belgium, Canada, Finland, France, India, Israel, Sweden, the UK and the US were among 26 countries that had at least one of its top 50 researchers.
"Interestingly, six researchers from India have made it to the top 50 list for the year...," it added.
