 "Cameron's Conservative Party wins UK polls")
Prime Minister David Cameron’s Conservative Party has bagged a surprise victory in the UK elections, with the results declared so far and projections suggesting the party could come very close to an absolute majority in the 650-member House.
This might come as a disappointment for the Ed Miliband-led Labour Party, which was looking to unseat Cameron and was seen as a frontrunner to win the present elections. Scottish National Party looks set to emerge the third-largest party.
An opinion poll has predicted the Conservative Party could win 316 seats, quite close to the number of seats the party has bagged so far. BBC has gone a step further, forecasting the party might get an absolute majority. The Labour Party is predicted to get 239 seats. The Scottish National Party could bag 65.
