The Malaysian government will reportedly issue death certificates to families of passengers and crew missing on-board Flight MH370.

The death certificates will open the door to financial aid for the passengers' families and also allow any potential lawsuits against the airline to begin, The Daily Mirror reports.

The news has reportedly invoked mixed emotions among those affected by the loss of their loved ones in one of the world's most mysterious aviation tragedy.

Many relatives of passengers onboard the ill-fated jet believe that the plane was hijacked and the passengers may be alive.

The flight with 239 people onboard vanished while flying from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing on March 8, and is believed to have crashed in the Indian Ocean.

Earlier, the US Navy's Bluefin-21 underwater drone searched about two-thirds of the focused underwater search area for the lost MH370 plane in the Indian Ocean but with no significant results.
