 "North Korea fired what appears to be a missile, reports Yonhap news agency")
According to the news agency, South Korean military sources said North Korea fired off what appeared to be a ballistic missile near the North Korean coast early Monday.
Earlier reports suggested that North Korean leader Kim has supervised test runs of new anti-aircraft weapons.
North Korea's official Korean Central News Agency had said that Kim "watched the test of a new type anti-aircraft guided weapon system", which was aimed at "detecting and striking different targets flying from any direction".
Meanwhile, according to a transcript of a conversation released by US media last week, President Donald Trump called North Korean leader Kim Jong-Un a "madman with nuclear weapons" during a telephone call with Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte on April 29.
Duterte also echoed similar views saying, "Kim has a dangerous toy in his hands that could create so much agony and suffering for all mankind."
