Shortly after Cuban president Raul Castro expressed his support for NSA whistleblower Edward Snowden, WikiLeaks posted a tweet predicting if Cuba is serious about expressing solidarity with Snowden, it may as well offer him political asylum.

Castro had expressed his support for Snowden and backed the Latin American nations which have shown willingness to grant Snowden asylum in their country and also supported Bolivian President Evo Morales, whose aircraft was recently diverted to Austria amidst speculation of Snowden being onboard.

According to Politico, WikiLeaks tweet made references to Castro's statement about US actions which shows how today the powerful think they can violate international law, endanger the sovereignty of states and trample the rights of citizens.

However, Castro did not mention that his government is considering granting asylum to Snowden in the country.

The report further said that Venezuela and Bolivia have offered asylum to Snowden and Nicaragua has expressed willingness if circumstances allow.
