IIM-A conducted Cluster 2 of its summer placement process for the PGP Class of 2016. The second cluster consisted of six cohorts: banking, finance and insurance services (BFSI), consumer goods, consumer services, global technology firms, general management and niche consulting.
In all, over 40 firms that participated in the second cluster as against over 30 firms in the first cluster of the summer placements process.
Consumer goods, consumer services and global technology firms cohorts included regular recruiters like Amazon, HUL, ITC, Mondelez, Nestle and P&G, among others. The general management and leadership cohort comprised recruiters such as Mahindra Group, TAS while the niche consulting cohort comprised firms like Hay Group, Feedback Infra and others.
Talking about the recruitments for summer internships, Karthik Sheth, CEO-Data, Bharti Airtel said, “We have a long association with IIM-A as the preferred recruiter and are happy that this year our campus recruitment witnessed a success like never before. The overwhelming participation from students reinforces that telecom is today amongst the most sought after industry and Airtel is the preferred employer of choice.”
Earlier on Tuesday, IIM-A kicked off summer placements with the first cluster which saw three cohorts including global strategy consulting, international investment banks and investment management firms, which included PE and VC firms. In the first cluster, while consulting majors Accenture Strategy and The Boston Consulting Group (BCG) emerged as top recruiters with 16 offers each, Macquarie Group was the first time recruiter in the summer internship placement process at IIM-A.
Among the 30 firms participating in first cluster were some of the prominent recruiters in the consulting domain such as A.T. Kearney, Bain & Co., McKinsey & Co., Monitor Deloitte, among others, along with various investment banks and investment management firms included Barclays, Citi, and Standard Chartered among others.
The third cluster is scheduled on November 17, 2014.
