Future innoversity, an academic initiative of Future Learning, Future Group, has started a two year MBA programme in supply chain management simultaneously in its Ahmedabad and Bangalore campuses from this year.

Launched in association with Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU), this course aims to produce job-ready and skilled professionals, who can contribute to the growing Indian logistics market, which is pegged at Rs 450,000 crore with an annual growth of 10 per cent.Future Innoversity already runs a two-year MBA and three year BBA programme for retail management at its campuses in Delhi, Ahmedabad, Kolkata and Bengaluru. The students of all three courses would be recruited by Future Supply chains.

“As a retail brand we have been facing a huge talent crunch in the logistic segment. Even after hiring graduates, we would spend close to a year and a half in putting them through the paces. So we felt that this was the best way we could use our tacit knowledge of retail in creating industry ready professionals. Every week for two days, the students would have practical sessions in the future group properties so they get an in depth knowledge of the field. We are more than ready to absorb them in the Future Group supply chains subsequently,” said Anshuman Singh, Managing Director & CEO, Future Supply Chains.

The admission for the programme requires graduate students to clear Future Innoversity Test (FIT) followed by group discussion. “Apart from a section on Emotional Quotient (EQ) that tests how service-oriented the student is, our entrance test is more or less based on the Common Aptitude Test (CAT). While placements are just an end result in most MBA courses, we will train students during the course to get placed.

The batch size would be of 50 students in both campuses and then we plan to scale it up in a year,” said, Kurien CK, Dean of Future Innoversity.
