HR guru advises focus on long term growth

| "Recently, an industry body organised a workshop on 360 degree feedback. Most of the CEOs sent their HR people though they should have attended the meeting," he said. |
| According to Rao, the quarterly filing of results and other compliances have made CEOs far too conscious about short term goals. |
| "CEOs are excessively sensitive about quarterly turnover or quarterly profits. This is a part of life and should be treated as such. CEOs should be guided by a long term vision," he said. |
| Rao said businessmen like Azim Premzi, G D Birla or Jamsetji Tata shared a common trait. |
| "One thing is common in them that they all had a long term vision. Unless you have a long term vision you cannot succeed," he added. |
| The former IIM Ahmedabad faculty said most CEOs now did not care to know what impact they had on their employees. |
