UEI Global to set up centre in A'bad

Mumbai-based United Education Institutes (UEI) Global School of Service Management is setting up a centre in Ahmedabad. Initially, the centre will be offering six months programme in hospitality.
An initiative of US-based Berggruen Holdings Inc., UEI Global currently has institutes in Rohini – West Delhi, Noida, Trivandrum, Pune, Bangalore and Jaipur. It plans on increasing the number of academies to 60 across the country by 2010.
UEI Global is an educational venture of Berggruen Education Pvt. Ltd. - a venture of Berggruen Holdings Inc. based in New York, USA.
Apart from offering hospitality education, UEI Global is also planning to introduce other programmes in aviation and retail in Gujarat through the centre in near future.
“Gujarat alone is in need of around 2,000 more hotel rooms. Around 80 per cent of the hospitality industry comprises front line staff where UEI Global will be providing its training. Our parent company has plans to invest around $ 30 million (approx. Rs 140.25 crore) to expand our education centres in India,” said Praveen Roy, managing director and chief executive officer of UEI Global School of Service Management.
Roy added that the institute has expanded nation-wide with 20 operational Institutes at Rohini-West Delhi, Noida, Trivandrum, Bangalore, Pune, Ludhiana, Chandigarh, Lucknow, Jaipur and many more.
The Institutes at Preet Vihar, Ghaziabad, Faridabad and Agra are soon to be launched. UEI Global also plans to put into operation the Institutes at Dehradun, Jalandhar, Indore, Raipur, Hyderabad and Thane in the near future.
The institute also has national and international associations with Bharathiar University, Coimbatore; University College of Birmingham, UK; New College of Nottingham, UK; City College Norwich, UK and Changi International Airport Services (CIAS), Singapore for building its curriculum and offering joint courses.
