Alstom Group shares mixed after GE open offer

General Electric has made an open offer to acquire stake in Alstom T&D India at Rs 261.25 per share and Alstom India at Rs 382.20 per share.

Alstom T&D India is trading higher by 5% at Rs 285 after General Electric (GE) made an open offer to acquire 25% stake in the company for Rs 1,672 crore.

GE has made an open at price of Rs 261.25 per share. A 3.66% lower than the Friday’s closing price of Rs 271.20 on the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE).

“GE Energy Europe B.V. , General Electric Company  and GE Industrial France SAS and, together with GE made an open offer for the acquisition of up to 64 million equity shares, representing 25% of the total paid-up equity share capital of Alstom T&D India,” Credit Suisse Securities (India) Private Limited, the manager to open offer said in a regulatory filing.

The stock opened at Rs 276 and touched high of Rs 292 on the BSE.  A combined around 70,000 shares changed hands on the counter in opening deals on the BSE and NSE.

Alstom India however, is down 3% at Rs 443 after GE) made an open offer to acquire 26% stake in the company at a price of Rs 382.20 per share. The offer price is 13.5% lower than its Friday’s closing of Rs 454.30 on the BSE.

The stock opened at Rs 450 and hit a low of Rs 425 so far on the BSE. A combined about 169,000 shares changed hands on the counter so far on the BSE and NSE.
