Asian markets open higher

The Asian markets have edged higher in early trades.

The Hang Seng is quoting at 22,749, higher by 127 points or 0.5% and Nikkei is at 10,309, up 17 points or 0.1%. Straits Times is at 3,195, higher by 12 points or 0.3% and Seoul Composite is at 2,040, up seven points or 0.3%.

On the other hand,  Shanghai Composite is at 2,729, lower by three points or 0.1% and Taiwan Weighted 8,854, down 16 points or 0.9%.
